If you’re a stationary junkie like me, you’ll adore Octaevo.
Octaevo create stationary and home accessories inspired by the Mediterranean. Their products are awesome as they have such a distinct aesthetic – they’re bold, colourful, whimsical and beautifully made. They’re a brand that often collaborate with different artists and makers on the continent so you’re always bound to pick up something that’s unique. Mermaid bookmark, anyone?!
Octaevo’s story is enchanting, immersive and evocative of memories and places of the past. Their products tell stories of the sea, travel and the Mediterranean. On their website, they have beautifully written inspirational short pieces of prose, my favourite is The Bright Life – immersing you further into Octaevo and of the old glamour of the Mediterranean.
If this wasn’t beautiful enough, they also offer a bespoke service; ranging from engraved notebooks to custom wedding stationary. If you’re looking for something a bit more luxe or wanted to find a more personal gift for someone, this is the place to come.
What inspires me, besides the products themselves, is how affordable it all is but also how luxe and thoughtful it all feels. It’s not trend driven, mass produced or cheaply made. Their products are unique (what caught my eye was their paper vases!), very art-driven, focused on their passion for the Mediterranean and the quality of their products.
For me, one of the things about interiors I champion and am most passionate about, is the care and thought that has gone into creating an object (or place). When you buy an object, whether you are conscious of it or not, you inherently feel the craftsmanship, thought and artistry that has gone into it….All the boundless possibilities and excitement of a new notebook, the feeling of joy and beauty as you place a new vase – it all leaves its mark within you. I’m a firm believer in interiors and objects having a profound effect on us and it’s brands like Octaevo that allow you to create an inspirational, vibrant and fun world, full of possibilities (even if you don’t live in the Med).
